ReplyWe had the same thing happen when my son was in kindergarten (he's in first now). He missed the 10 days for being sick and then I got a letter asking me to come in and discuss it with the principal, guidance etcetc. I think it's just a basic letter that gets sent out automatically. Not a big deal, they knew he was sick those days, always sent in a note or a doctors letter. Thankfully we haven't missed that many days this year, even with that awful stomach bug and flu. I said that if he was going to need to miss another day from being sick..I'd send him to class and have them send him home. I wasn't going to shell out $40 for a copay when my kid had a little tummy bug or fever.

ReplyI was wondering what all the sirens were as we were leaving Pet Smart. I saw a giant cloud of smoke.

I second this. Wow Gabby, you realize you just admitted to the world...a digital foot print confession? Are you graduated now? I see you played Softball for the team last year(yeah I know how to google too).
I hope your parents see this, it's obvious you STILL need some help.

Did I say that? No.
But minimally the 'kid' should not be allowed to participate in extra curricular activities and spread their lack of common sense to the rest of the team/band.
Really it takes 3 STRIKES?
That is beyond lenient! And absolutely unacceptable.

Because a chalk board doesn't require some special training class for the teacher to use it, nor does it continue to cost more and more over years.
There is a what 7M $ deficit? They are using ALL their surplus to drop that deficit down to 2.5M. But NEXT year that surplus will be gone and we will REALLY be twiddling our thumbs to come up with 7M.
Cutting Teachers, Cutting Classes, Charging students to be in activities only to pay for teachers to attend classes on how to use WIFI and Tablets? I think NOT!
I'm not sure staring at a computer screen, tablet screen, smart board screen, is going to prepare my child for the REAL world.
