Worthington Mill Road Bridge to Close Later This Month

PennDOT crews will work April 15 to 18 to repair a deteriorated section of the bridge deck and weld a steel support member to extend the life of the bridge.

The Worthington Mill Road Bridge will be closed April 15 through 18 for repairs, PennDOT has announced. According to PennDOT, crews will repair the deck on the structurally-deficient bridge, which connects Northampton and Wrightstown townships over the Neshaminy Creek. During construction, Worthington Mill Road will be closed between Twining Road and Swamp Road, PennDOT said. Through traffic will be detoured over Route 232 and Route 413. Local access will be maintained up to the bridge. Crews will work to repair a deteriorated section of the bridge deck and weld a steel support member to extend the life of the bridge. PennDOT has scheduled a public meeting for Tuesday at 7 p.m. to gather input on the Worthington Mill Road bridge project.

The bridge, which spans the Neshaminy Creek in Northampton and Wrightstown townships, is being replaced by PennDOT. The public meeting will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Bucks County Community College's Newtown Campus.  The purpose of the meeting is to show the project plans and provide residents with information about the project, PennDOT said. The public will also be able to ask questions and provide input. Representatives from PennDOT will be at the meeting to discuss the project and answer questions. The meeting will be held at Bucks County Community College's Charles E. Rollins Student Center.
