Free Anti-Bullying Seminar to be Held at the NAC

The seminar will show participants how to use the teachings of Tae Kwon Do as a way to stop bullying.

A free seminar at the Newtown Athletic Club will show participants how to use the teachings of Tae Kwon Do as a way to stop bullying. The anti-bullying seminar will be held March 2 from 1 to 4 p.m. Shelby Gallagher, a 16-year-old second degree black belt who holds two Junior Olympic medals, will be the instructor. According to an event flyer, the teachings of Tae Kwon Do promote discipline, respect, and builds confidence and self-esteem. “Through the study of Tae Kwon Do, a student learns how to respect themselves and others and develops the skills and confidence necessary to not only stand up for themselves, but also for others who may not have a high level of self-esteem,” the flyer says. “The confidence gained through the practice of …
