Northampton Dinner Dance Raises 12K for USO

A USO representative said it was the single biggest contribution the organization has received from a community group in the last 16 months.

A dinner dance in November raised nearly $12,000 for the United Service Organizations. USO provides programs and services for the troops and their families.  During a Northampton Township Board of Supervisors meeting Wednesday, the USO Dinner Dance Committee presented a check for $11,893 to an organization representative.  The dinner dance was held Nov. 9 at Spring Mill Manor.  Joe Brooks, who accepted the check on behalf of the USO, said he was overcome with gratitude for the fundraising efforts and donations from the committee, sponsors, donors and residents that supported this first-time event. “We rely on charity and contributions like this are invaluable,” said Brooks. “This is the single biggest contribution we’ve gotten from a …

Tickets Still Available for Friday's USO Dinner, Dance

Proceeds from the benefit will go to Liberty USO, which serves Pennsylvania's and Southern New Jersey's military families.

The USO isn't just an organization that entertains the military. It aims to enhance the quality of life of Armed Forces personnel and their family through countless programs. Liberty USO, which serves Pennsylvania's and Southern New Jersey's military families, is having a Dinner and Dance Fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 9 from 7 to 11 p.m. The event is being sponsored by Northampton Township. "It's a wonderful organization," USO volunteer Lorri Loughlin said. "We get no funding from federal or state government, so basically everything comes from corporate and personal donations."
