If you plan on waiting in line for Black Friday deals, make sure you know what times the stores open.
If you're planning on braving the long lines to scoop up some door buster deals, you better know what times the stores are opening. More and more shops are opening earlier and earlier for Black Friday deals, with Kmart, Sears, Macy's and Walmart opening their doors at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, and Target opening just an hour later at 9 p.m. Here's a list of stores and their opening times: GameStop (Richboro): Friday, 5 a.m. Kmart (Lower Southampton): Thursday, 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday, 5 a.m. Kmart (Warminster): Thursday, 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday, 5 a.m. Kohl's (Warminster): Friday, midnight to midnight. Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday rule the shopping roost after Thanksgiving.
If you have a black belt in Black Friday shopping, listen up: area big-box retailers are gearing up to dazzle bargain hunters even earlier this year—starting on Thanksgiving Day! Last week, Walmart announced that it would open its doors at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22 and offer holiday doorbusters while supplies last. These include deals on TVs, iPads, an electric scooter for $79 and a steam mop for $39. Not to be outdone, Target and Best Buy are also planning all-out holiday shopping assaults. Target's deals begin at 9 p.m. According to an ad leaked online, the best deals will be for TVs, a Nook, a Nikon camera and an XBOX 360 Kinect bundle. At Best Buy, doors open at midnight. Sandwiched between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is Small Business Saturday. It's a day to patronize and support the locally owned small businesses in your community. Hosted by American Express and sponsored by FedEx, Clear Channel and many other corporate supporters, public officials and advocacy groups, the third annual Small Business Saturday will be held Nov. 24, to help small businesses generate exposure and, well, business during the biggest shopping season of the year. Supporting these businesses invigorates the economy and the community.
