Supervisors Recognize Outstanding Citizens

The supervisors had several awards to give out and presentations to make at Wednesday night's monthly meeting.

Wednesday night's Board of Supervisors meeting in the Administration Building was full of community members and accolades for them. The meeting began by Supervisors' recognition of the positive efforts by Northampton citizens and servicemen that made a beaming Chairman George Komelasky say, “This is what makes Northampton a great place to be.” The supervisors and Pete Palestina of the Marine Corps League led a Patriots ceremony to welcome home Army Specialist Ryan Berk. More than 10 community veterans from several different branches stood next to Lundy as Vice Chairman Vincent Deon, a former airman himself, officially welcomed Lundy back to Northampton. He presented the first class airman not only with a flag but a certificate commendating his efforts in southwest Asia and another flag Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick had flown over the capitol to represent his service to the United States. "I'm proud to be from Northampton," Lundy said. "It's been a great experience and something I'll never forget…
