Vacancy

What Should Replace Patagonia?

Tell us what should fill the empty store fronts throughout Northampton Township.

Patagonia closed its doors in November, and now Richboro has one less family-owned restaurant. The former bar and restaurant is located at 59 Almshouse Rd. Patch wants the community's opinion on what should go here. What would you like to see in this location? Do you think another bar or restaurant should come in? Maybe it should be a diner? Perhaps you'd like to see something completely different What do you think? Leave your thoughts in the comments section and keep an eye out for more vacancies throughout the area. If you see another property that we should highlight, e-mail me at jesseka@patch.com or tell me in the comments.

Lucci and his wife Silvia opened the restaurant about six years ago, when they wanted to be able to accommodate more people than their Newtown restaurant allowed. The couple's other restaurant, Newtown’s Café con Leche, is a cozy BYOB that has been open for 15 years. But, for the Lucci's, bigger wasn't better. Though the restaurant offered similar dishes that customers love at con Leche, and continued to produce house-made soups, dressing, sauces and demi-glaze, the bigger restaurant was too much to maintain. "It's too much, I can't afford it," Daniel Lucci said. …

Very sorry to learn of the closing. I found the staff to be fine and the food delicious. The problem was the decor .... Or lack of and it was very dirty looking. The owners didn't put any money into fixing this place. Shame to see a business go under.   more ›
