A Northampton resident chased after two people who he said stole batteries from his barn on Sackettsford Road early Thursday.
Northampton and Newtown police were involved in an early morning incident Thursday that began after a resident noticed someone was stealing batteries from his barn, police said. Shortly before 4 a.m., Northampton Township police received a report that a Sackettsford Road resident was chasing a vehicle occupied by two people who had stolen batteries from his barn. The fleeing vehicle crashed in the area of Sackettsford and Rushland roads, where police said officers from Northampton and Newtown were able to catch one of the alleged thieves, a Warminster resident. Charges relating to Theft, Receiving Stolen Property and Loitering and Prowling at Night will be filed via summons, police said. The investigation is continuing as officers attempt…

The body of Michael Naylon, who went missing last month, was found today, his family confirms.
Michael Naylon, the local man who had been missing since Sept. 28, was found dead today, his daughter Megan told Patch. According to sources, his body was found in the Neshaminy Creek near Worthington Mill Road. Newtown Township police could not be reached for comment Thursday night. The last time Naylon's family saw him was Sept. 28 when they said he walked down Route 413 towards Newtown from Worthington Mill Road. His family believed he may have had a stroke while walking. He has had four strokes in the past, according to his daughter. Since he was reported missing, local police, his family and area residents conducted various searches for him. Students attending Friday's football game began fighting at the nearby shopping center, police said.
A fight involving “numerous juveniles” during a football game Friday at Council Rock High School North required township police to call in assistance from neighboring police departments. Newtown Township Police were dispatched to Wendy’s at about 8 p.m. Friday after a passing motorist called to report there were numerous juveniles fighting. “Arriving officers observed crowds of juveniles who had been attending a football game at Council Rock High School North moving between the high school and the shopping center,” according to police.
