Tweet #PatchRebuilds to Help Hurricane Sandy Survivors

Patch will make a $1 donation to AmeriCares for every tweet with the hashtag #PatchRebuilds.

You can help rebuild communities that were hit by Hurricane Sandy by donating cans of food, volunteering for cleanup efforts—or simply sending a tweet. Patch is excited to announce our new effort to help support devestated communities after the storm. For every tweet sent with the hashtag #PatchRebuilds, we will donate $1 to the AmeriCares Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Fund, up to $125,000. Your contribution will go toward medical and humanitarian aid, grants and programs to help Sandy survivors. CR South Sophomore Coordinates Hurricane Sandy Food Drive

A Council Rock High School South sophomore, Samantha Folz, coordinated donations for those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

A Council Rock South sophomore orchestrated a food drive for victims of Hurricane Sandy at local grocery stores on Saturday, Nov. 3. Samantha Folz, 15, planned a food drive at three area grocery stores, to collect goods to send to people in New Jersey. Folz had friends and family, and trucks from her father's business, at Superfresh, McCaffrey's and Thriftway Shop N Bag. "When people went in the store they were given a flier and then they came out and were putting stuff on the truck," John Folz told Patch. He said that his daughter's drive filled three box trucks and raised $500 to purchase bedding and toiletries.
