District officials said some of the renovations at Holland Elementary School will be completed in April, two months ahead of schedule.
The Holland Elementary School renovation project is ahead of schedule, Council Rock School District officials said Thursday. According to District Supervisor of Operational Services Doug Taylor, some of the construction will be completed in April instead of the initial target date of June. Taylor said some classrooms will be finished by the middle of April, allowing some students to move out of the modular classrooms before the end of the school year. The new library, which wasn’t supposed to be completed until June, will be done in the coming weeks, too. Taylor said the transition to the new library will take place over Spring Break. Northampton Township Police said the incident was reported on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Holland Elementary School was vandalized sometime earlier this month, Northampton Township Police reported. The police department received a complaint on Wednesday, Jan. 2 that sometime over the preceding days, someone damaged the lights and siding at the school's entrance. Damage was estimated at $200. The Council Rock School Board will meet Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
The Council Rock School Board agenda for Thursday includes approval of bids for renovations at Holland Elementary School. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Chancellor Center. The agenda also includes the following items: acceptance of independent audit report; approval to transfer the operation of speech and language special education service from the Bucks County Intermediate Unit to the Council Rock School District; and a change order in the amount of $99,869 for the Churchville Elementary renovations.
