Gas Prices Down Nationally, Up Locally

Find the cheapest gas in the Northampton Township area.

Despite an average 3-cent drop in gas prices nationally, locally, prices rose about 2 cents since last week, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. In the Bucks and Montgomery Counties, the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline is $3.929 per gallon, which is up 1.6 cents from a week ago, 10 cents higher than a month ago and 39.6 cents higher than a year ago. The report does state that crude oil prices continue to fall as we move into the colder weather. Crude oil, what gasoline is made from, dropped from $99 a barrel high in September, to below $90 a barrel last week. Locally, the cheapest price for regular as of Thursday, Oct. 4 is $3.84 at BP on 912 Street Rd., in Southampton and at Giant on 466 2nd Street Pike.   9/11/12…

Are Gas Prices Starting to Level Out?

AAA continues to predict that pump prices will drop lower heading into the end of the year. Nationally, prices went up an average of 1.6 cents last week, which is smaller than previous weeks, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. In Pennsylvania, the average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.952 up 6.8 cents from a week ago. In the Bucks and Montgomery Counties, the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline is $3.958 per gallon, which is up 6 cents from a week ago, 17.6 cents higher than a month ago and 30 cents higher than a year ago. Gas Prices Continue to Rise

Find the cheapest gas in the Northampton Township area.

Cooler weather hasn’t stopped the rise in fuel prices; gas is up an average of 2 cents across the county and more than 8 cents locally, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. As Gulf Coast refineries have successfully restarted production after Hurricane Isaac, prices in those states have dropped. Motorists in seven states—California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Oregon and Washington—however, continue to pay more than $4 a gallon. In the Bucks and Montgomery Counties, the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline is $3.898 per gallon, which is up 8.1 cents from a week ago, 24.5 cents higher than a month ago and 25.9 cents higher than a year ago. AAA: As Summer Ends, Gas Prices Will Drop

Find the cheapest gas in the Northampton-area.

In Pennsylvania, today’s average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.800 up 2.1 cents from a week ago, but prices should drop as demand decreases with the end of the summer driving season, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. However, the report indicates, regional supply and distribution issues, hurricane concerns or market moving events could keep prices higher temporarily in the coming months. In the Bucks and Montgomery Counties, the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline is $3.826 per gallon, which is up 1.5 cents from a week ago, 15.9 cents higher than a month ago and 14 cents higher than a year ago. Locally, the cheapest price for regular is $3.58 at Prophete Brothers Liberty at 4421 Brownsville Rd. in Feasterville …

AAA: Gas Prices to Decline After Labor Day

Find the cheapest gas in the Northampton Township area.

The week-over-week, month-over-month and year-over-year price increases for gasoline are expected to reverse themselves following Labor Day, when summer vacations end and school begins, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. In the Bucks and Montgomery area, gas went up 1.9 cents since last week and about 17.9 cents since last month. That works out to 13.8 cents higher than last year at this time. Locally, the cheapest price for regular is $3.58 at the Prophete Brothers Liberty gas station at 4421 Brownsville Rd. in Feasterville Trevose, followed by $3.68 at the Southampton Hess at 724 Street Rd. The picture shown is NOT the way to pump fuel safely! Never leave the pump unattended. Also, I believe gas stations are suppose to disengage (remove) the auto-lock feature on the handles of the gas pumps. Township officials--correct me if I am mistaken on that.   more ›

Gas Prices Jump Nearly 8 Cents Since Last Week

Find the cheapest gas in the Northampton area.

Fuel prices dropped in early spring, and for the last 100 days gas prices have been cheaper than they were last year, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. In this last week, however, the national average price for gasoline surpassed last year’s cost. In the Bucks and Montgomery area, gas went up 7.7 cents since last week and about 26 cents since last month. That works out to 7.3 cents higher than last year at this time.             How do higher gas prices affect your spending? Prices at the pump have been broadly driven by higher global crude oil prices, due to mixed news for the global economy tensions with Iran, the report states. Oil Prices Down, Local Gas Prices Up

Despite a drop in the cost of crude oil, gas prices at the pump increase about 9 cents since last week.

On average, you are paying 9.2 cents more per gallon to fill your tank this week than last week, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. This comes after the price of crude, which gasoline is made from, dropped in price by $3.69 per barrel, but that is still more than it has been in recent months, the reports explains. Pennsylvanian’s are paying an average of $3.536 a gallon, up 7.8 cents from a week ago. In the Philadelphia area, the price is $3.631 per gallon, up 9.2 cents since last week, according to the report. Locally, the best price for regular is $3.56 at Sunoco located at 190 W Street Rd. in Feasterville Trevose.
