Incumbent Kyle McKessy won in Region 9 and Andy Block was victorious in Region 8 in the race for Council Rock School Board.
Incumbent Kyle McKessy was reelected to represent Region 9 on the Council Rock School Board during a primary race Tuesday. McKessy and her opponent, Le Sheppard, both cross filed, allowing Democrats and Republicans alike to cast votes for them. McKessy received 72 percent of the Republican vote and 75 percent of the Democratic vote. She received 424 votes to Sheppard's 158. McKessy, a Wrightstown resident, has three children in the district. She has served on the board since 2008; in 2011 and 2012 she was board president. This year, she was elected as vice president. Le Sheppard will challenge incumbent Kyle McKessy for the seat representing Region 9 on the Council Rock School Board.
Wrightstown residents Kyle McKessy and Le Sheppard will face off in the primary this month to represent region 9 on the Council Rock School Board. Region 9 includes all of Wrightstown and Newtown Township districts 1 and 2. The primary will be held May 21. Both candidates have cross filed. Upper Makefield resident Diana Nolan will join Andy Block and Theodore Caputi on the primary ballot for Council Rock School Board. Nolan, Caputi and Block are seeking to represent Region 8. The seat is currently held by Paul Anagnostakos, who is stepping down after 10 years on the board. Nolan said her main focus will be lowering spending and keeping taxes affordable. "My primary concern in running for school board is the continual increase in spending and taxes over the past several years that threatens to price many of our residence out of their homes," she said. Wrightstown resident Le Sheppard this week announced he is running to represent region 9 on the Council Rock School Board. That seat is currently held by Kyle McKessy, who is running for reelection. Council Rock High School South is slated to receive a donation of more than $7,000 to purchase 20 iPads for students with disabilities. The school board will formally accept the donation during Thursday's meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Chancellor Center. According to the meeting agenda, John Donohoe has offered to donate $7,580 to purchase 20 iPads for Council Rock High School South students with disabilities. The administration recommends the approval of the donation. This is the second donation the district has received recently for iPads.
