ATC Will not Make Payments to CONTACT

The board of supervisors said that ATC is adamant about not paying funds to CONTACT for legal fees.

Though Northampton Township and American Tower Corporation reached an agreement to relocate 12 cell towers, ATC is not willing to negotiate the payment of legal fees with the community organization that fought alongside the township. The Citizens of Northampton Township Against Cell Towers (CONTACT) hired an attorney, David Truelove, to represent the group in the fight against ATC, the company that started installing 25-foot-tall towers throughout Northampton Township. While ATC told the township it would pay for the study of the new tower placement—which cost about $500,000—the company is not willing to put any money toward legal fees. ATC, Township Near Cell Phone Tower Solution

American Tower Corporation presented an alternative plan for cell phone towers that were originally planned for residential neighborhoods.

The cell phone pole battle between Northampton Township and American Tower Corporation is nearing its end, according to the Board of Supervisors. Supervisor Chairman Frank Rothermel said that it is likely that ATC will work out alternative placement for the poles. The company briefed township officials and members of Citizens of Northampton Township Against Cell Towers (CONTACT) on the new plan. ATC can make minor adjustments before presenting the changes to the community at a special meeting. "ATC will be in attendance with a representative," Rothermal said, "and will go through the plan at that time." Support CONTACT at Beef & Beer Fundraiser

Today's fundraiser will help Citizens of Northampton Township Against Cell Towers pay legal bills.

The entire community—children included—are invited to the Beef & Beer Fundraiser today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Big Heads Richboro Pub to support the Citizens of Northampton Township Against Cell Towers. The Citizens of Northampton Township Against Cell Towers (CONTACT) hired an attorney to represent the group in the fight against American Tower Corporation, the company that started installing 25-foot-tall towers throughout Northampton Township. And now the group needs help paying off some of the legal fees its accrued. CONTACT to Host Beef & Beer Fundraiser

The fundraiser will help Citizens of Northampton Township Against Cell Towers pay legal bills.

Citizens of Northampton Township Against Cell Towers will host a fundraiser to help pay for the organization's legal fees on Sunday, July 22 at Big Heads Richboro Pub. The entire community—children included—are invited to the Beef & Beer Fundraiser that will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the pub to support the organization. In addition to live music, food and drinks, a silent auction will be held as well as 50/50 raffles. Four Jimmy Buffet tickets, two Diamond Club Phillies tickets, a semi-precious stone necklace and a wheelbarrow containing $400 of beer and liquor (donated by Modern Contractors in Langhorne) are just some of the raffle items.
