Three Percent Tuition Increase Approved for State Universities

The higher rates will be effective for the 2012-2013 school year.

Bucks and Montgomery County students attending one of the 14 Pennsylvania state colleges in the fall will have to pay more for their tuition next year. The Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) Monday approved a 3 percent tuition increase for the 2012-13 academic year. The increase amounts to an extra $188 per year, or $94 every semester. The total tuition cost for a full time, resident undergraduate student will be $6,428. Taking into account additional fees, room and board, the average total cost for a state university is about $16,000, said PASSHE spokesperson Kenn Marshall. Are you a student or a parent? Tuition At BCCC Going Up This Fall

A student taking 12 credits a semester will pay $3,648 to attend BCCC during the 2012 –13 academic year. That’s an increase of $264.

  Students attending Bucks County Community College will pay nearly eight percent more to attend starting this fall.  The Bucks County Community College’s Board of Trustees today approved a tuition increase of $6 per credit for county residents. In addition, the technology fee will increase by $5 a credit. Beginning in the fall semester, tuition for county residents will increase from $111 to $117 a credit. Out-of-county residents will pay $234, up from $222. Tuition for out-of-state residents will go from $333 to $351. The technology support fee will increase by $5 from $30 a credit to $35 a credit.   The increases mean that a student taking 12 credits a semester will pay $3,648 for 24 credits (including tuition and technology fee) during…
