Center's Auction a Success
For the past four years the Tyler Park Center for the Arts has hosted an art auction and benefit to maintain the building and the organization's activities.
Christopher Wise, an auctioneer sent from the Rago Auction House in Lambertville, New Jersey, stood behind the podium and overlooked the crowd of eager guests who filled the stable at the Tyler Park Center for the Arts. “Let’s start out with lot 109,” Wise said. It was a hand-blown glass vase by artist Chris Rogahn and it quickly went for $120. Next up was an oak table with mosaic by Brian Arthur. “$240, would you like $250? I have $250, would you like $260?” Wise said as the room turned down to a hushed whisper. A moment of silence went by. “That’s it, keep drinking. We’ll get it out of you yet,” Wise joked and the whispers became laughs. “There we go; one sip is all it took. $260, would you like $270? Someone get a beer in his hands!” …

It truly was a fabulous and fun filled night, with beautiful art, great food, wine & beer and wonderful people. This is a magical place to spend time, whether it is taking a workshop of the many offered, or taking pottery classes from Jennifer Miller, or just walking through the sculpture garden.
