New Foundation to Support 9th Grade Sports
The Council Rock Sports Foundation is a new initiative that answers the challenge of how to accomodate ninth grade atheletes.
After the Council Rock School Board of Director's announcement last year to cut ninth grade sports, a team of community members decided they were going to do something about it. That's why, half a year later, Ken Hone and Bob Roda announced they are in the process of creating the Council Rock Sports Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that would take community donations and funnel them to the school district to allow them to continue sports programs. The donations, which would remain completely anonymous, would not be allocated to a specific sport, but rather would be spread among the programs that ninth grade students show interest in.
