Shoe Sort Yields 7,000 Pairs

Local charity Re-Use Your Shoes hosted a successful shoe sort at The Churchville Nature Center.

Bucks County Charity Re-Use Your Shoes held a shoe sorting event at the on Tuesday night.  More than 50 volunteers showed up to lend a hand sorting 7,000 pairs of shoes.

The shoes were unloaded, sorted, and banded together so they could be delivered to those in need. 

Kevin Kane, founder of the organization, said, "We had a great turnout tonight and our volunteers worked hard. This was a record time to organize this many shoes."

The hard work paid off, as Kane and his helpers were able to deliver 3,000 pairs of men's shoes to St. Johns Hospice in Philadelphia today.
