Grab a Mitten, Help a Child

The Northampton Township Senior Center's Wish Mittens program is underway again this year.

The isn't just a place for and games of pool, but it's a whole community of people willing to serve those in need.

That's why the center is once again running their Wish Mittens program this year. The idea is that patrons will come in, grab a mitten with an item on it and bring that item back into the center. The collection then goes to Tabor Services in Doylestown.

Senior Center Program Coordinator Kathy Gurevitch said the seniors really enjoy giving back. And, in their second year, the program is really gaining traction and enthusiasm among the members.

Manager Shiela Jobs said "it's the greatest feeling" pulling up to Tabor with a truck filled to the brim with gifts, toys and necessary items for children in need.

To donate, stop by the Senior Center and pick up a mitten. You must return the items on the mitten you chose by Dec. 9.
