Northampton Runners Rock 2012 Half Marathon
Nearly 50 local runners participated in the annual Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon in Philadelphia on Sunday.
Down the Ben Franklin Parkway, through Center City and into Fairmount Park, more than 15,000 runners took on the 13.1 miles of the annual Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon in Philadelphia on Sunday, Sept. 16. Among those were 46 runners from Northampton Township, including runners from Richboro, Churchville and Holland.
Stanley Biwott, 26, was the first man to cross the finish line. Biwott finished in 01:00:01. A few minutes later, at 01:07:19, the first female crossed the finish line. Sharon Cherop, 28, came in 23rd place overall. Biwott and Cherop are both long-distance runners from Kenya.
