Northampton Junior Legion Wins State Championship

The local team went all the way last week.

On Aug. 3, the Northampton Junior Legion beat Bloomsburg 6-4 to win their second state championship game in three years in Homer City, Pa.

The team, part of Northampton Baseball, is comprised of boys ages 14 and 15. It is a competitive team that players must try out for and also takes part in travel throughout the surrounding area.

The roster is announced in March and the boys play games throughout the summer. Other titles for this season include Lower Bucks County Champion and Pennsylvania Eastern Regional Champion. The team went 5-0 through the entire tournament and finished their season 44-3-1.
