Welch School Repair Costs Could Reach $2.5M

The Council Rock school is only 13 years old, but its exterior is crumbling.

The Maureen M. Welch Elementary School in the Churchville section of Northampton, built only 13 years ago, is crumbling.

Repairs to the exterior of the Council Rock school could cost as much as $2.5 million, the Bucks County Courier Times is reporting

The Council Rock School Board on Thursday voted, 7-0, to hire D'Huy Engineering Inc. to work on the repair work, The Courier Times said.

School district officials have not yet said whether they will seek legal action against the contractors who worked on the school's original construction, The Courier Times said.
