South Ensemble Makes Finalists in Radio Contest

Today local radio station B101 will play recordings from several local schools' choirs as part of their Radio Choir Contest, and 's Vocal Ensemble made the list with their rendition of "The Christmas Can Can."

Each morning at 7:15 the station will play a few of the nine finalists. This morning, South's and two other schools' songs were played. The listening will continue through Wednesday, while the public votes for their favorite each morning on their website.

The finalists from each morning will be played on Dec. 15, with the winning group announced the following morning.

The winner's music program will receive $5,000, donated by local Mercedes-Benz dealers and B101. The group will also win the opportunity to perform live on stage at the Peter Nero and the Philly Pops Holiday Pops Show.

Voting is unlimited and is allowed between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. each day. Voting for Council Rock South only counts today.
