Sources: St. Bedes to Accept Assumption BVM Students

This afternoon's press conference is expected to reveal closings and mergers for almost 50 Catholic schools in the Philadelphia Archdiocese.

in Holland will take students from Feasterville's Assumption B.V.M., according to a report released by Philly.com this afternoon.

The full list includes 44 Catholic elementary schools and five high schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Safe from the mergers and closings is , but Conwell Egan is not.

An official announcement will be made during a 4 p.m. press conference, available online at archphila.org.

"Currently, there are 178 schools serving about 68,000 students – a 35 percent drop in enrollment since 2001. In the past five years, the archdiocese has closed 30 schools," NBC Phildelphia reported.
