NBC10 Meteorologist to Speak at BCCC Event to Benefit Women

Michelle Grossman will be the keynote speaker at Bucks County Community College's Women's Scholarship Tea, which is scheduled for Oct. 6 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

NBC10 Meteorologist Michelle Grossman will be in the area next week.

But she won’t be providing a live broadcast of a weather event. Rather she will be the keynote speaker at ’s Women’s Scholarship Tea, which is scheduled for Oct. 6 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The fourth annual event, hosted by the Bucks County Community College, benefits women students who support at least one child while seeking a higher education.

Last year’s Women’s Scholarship Tea raised $6,600, enough to support 13 partial scholarships, according to the BCCC Foundation.

The event will be held at Tyler Hall, an 81-year-old historic mansion that’s the cornerstone of the Newtown campus. Tea, finger sandwiches and dessert will be served, organizers said.

In addition to Grossman, past recipients of the “Salute to Mothers” scholarship will be present.

Grossman, a Doylestown native, joined the NBC10 EarthWatch team in 2008. Prior to joining the Philadelphia TV station, she was a meteorologist for NBC Weather Plus in Englewood Cliffs, N.J.

She is a graduate of  and Penn State University. She earned her Broadcast Meteorology Certificate from Mississippi State University. Grossman currently resides in the Philadelphia suburbs with her daughter.
