CR South Falls to La Salle 3-1 in Championship Game

In the final round of the PIAA State Class AAAA baseball tournament, Council Rock South's boys baseball team lost 3-1 to La Salle.

Council Rock South's Golden Hawks fell to the La Salle Explorers in the final round of the PIAA State Class AAAA baseball tournament on Friday, June 15. The final score for the game, which was held at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park at Penn State University, was 3-1.

The Golden Hawks hoped to win today, not only to win the first state baseball title for the school, but to give its coach a special going away present.

Coach Greg Young announced earlier in the season that he would be stepping down as coach at the end of the season. Young is the school's first baseball coach since the school district split back in 2003.

If the Golden Hawks win today, it will be the first state baseball title for the school, according to an article on Philly.com, and a going away present for Council Rock's coach, Greg Young. Young previously announced his intention of stepping down as coach at the end of the season in order to spend more time with his family.
