After winning the semifinals of the PIAA State Class AAAA baseball tournament against Altoona, Council Rock South's Golden Hawks will advance to the state championship game.

The Council Rock South Golden Hawks are one game away from winning the state championship in the PIAA State Class AAAA baseball tournament.

After beating Altoona 4-0 in the seminfinals at Hershey on Monday, the boys baseball team will advance to the state championship game at Penn State University. The Golden Hawks will take on La Salle on Friday, June 15 at 1 p.m.

If the team wins on Friday, it will be the first state baseball title for the school, according to an article on Philly.com. Additionally, it will be a bittersweet going away present for Council Rock's coach, Greg Young, who announced his intention of stepping down as coach at the end of the season in order to spend more time with his family. Young is the school's first baseball coach since the school district split back in 2003.
