Council Rock School Closed Again Thursday

Council Rock schools will remain closed Thursday due to significant power outages and road closures throughout the district, a message from the superintendent said.

As of 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, eight schools in the district are without power and "Council Rock’s Network Operation Center in Newtown remains without power and this has affected email, web, and phone service to and from schools," the message from Superintendent Mark Klein said.

"We will assess Council Rock schools through the day on Thursday in preparation for a decision on school for Friday," Klein said.

The Council Rock Board of School Directors will still meet for its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday 7:30 p.m. at the Chancellor Center, and the Academic Standards Committee will meet before the board meeting at 6 p.m.
