Churchville Resident Announces Council Rock School Board Candidacy

Northampton Township resident Ed Mayer has announced he will run for Council Rock School Board Director.

He is running to represent the district’s Region No. 6, which includes Northampton Township voting districts Nos. 4, 8, 13 and 18.  That seat is currently held by Robert Donnelly.

Mayer has cross filed; Democrats or Republicans can vote for him in the May 21 primary.

Mayer has lived in Northampton Township for 12 years.  He resides in the Churchville section of the township with his wife Trish and two sons, Ryan and Zach. Ryan is a graduate of Maureen M. Welch, Richboro Middle School and Council Rock South. He is currently a senior at Hofstra University. 

Zach graduated from Maureen M. Welch and is now in 8th grade at Richboro Middle School.  “As a family, we’ve been immersed in the Council Rock sports community as our boys have spent many years playing soccer, baseball and basketball for Council Rock leagues,” Mayer said.

"Trish and I know and appreciate the value of a Council Rock education. I want to bring my skills and experience to do everything I can to ensure that Council Rock continues to provide an excellent education to all students, just has it has for my boys."

Mayer is a senior business and IT leader with more than 25 years of leadership experience in financial, insurance, healthcare, pharmaceutical, e-commerce, non-profit, consulting and federal government verticals.  He said his principal strength is getting things done by directing the most effective use of people, processes, tools and technology. 

Mayer said he has had oversight of budgets in excess of $80M and led the integration of a $10B merger. Mayer has an undergraduate degree from Holy Family University and a law degree from Temple University School of Law.
