Frozen, Snow and more to come

I have been hearing many people saying they wish Spring would hurry up, and back at the beginning of February more than a few harsh words regarding Punxsutawney Phil. As I write this the news just went on about the snow storm on the way. Two days ago it was 2-3 inches. Today, depending on where you look or listen to could be anywhere from 6-7 inches to 15 inches. And the news is milking this for all it is worth, once again. It is a money making industry, they get eye balls watching they can get more advertisers. So if they make things vague or worse than suspected more people will tune in. It is like the political races, closer races mean more money pouring in. If it is a run away less money, so it also benefits the news agencies with advertisers. But I am off topic.

This winter has been bad, but not exceptional. We have had quite a bit of snow true, but we haven't had one big snow like in previous years. But i am a bit biased having moved back to the area two years ago from Upper Berks County.

The point is other than the ice storm it hasn't been that bad of a winter. The snow has been consistant but not one or two storms that drop a foot and a half of snow.

The temp is what is beginning to get on my nerves personally. But it does have some interesting effects, such as the frozen lakes in the area. The photos are of Nockamixon and Luxenbourg respectively. I did walk out onto the ice, which I do not recommend you do alone, but in my defense the temp had been well below freezing, fresh foot prints in the snow, and as long as I didn't fall into a ice fishing hole I was fairly confident of my safety.

The view was very good though, and well worth the drive.
