Traymore Manor Water Main Construction Starts Today

Construction of the new water main at Traymore Manor is slated to begin Tuesday, July 24.

The first phase of the is slated to start on Tuesday, July 24. Construction will begin on Inland Road.

This phase of the project includes water main installation, hydrants and water laterals to the right-of-way line, according to an update from the township.

During construction, Jacksonville Road will be closed and traffic will be rerouted during working hours for about a week. This is considered "a short-term inconvenience," according to the Board of Supervisors who gave an update on the project at June's supervisors meeting.

The water main construction project will bring safe, public water to 107 properties that were affected by well contamination within Northampton Township. Back in February, so that the township could receive a grant to pay for the installation of public water lines.

Residents are not responsible for any costs included in the project for hookup, well capping or restoration. The project, which will cost approximately $2 million, will be financed by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
