Township Seeking Blighted Property Committee Members

The Board of Supervisors is looking for Northampton residents to join Blighted Property Review Committee.

Due to recent uprise about blighted, or damageds=, properties in the area, the township has put out a notice asking residents to apply for a position on its new Blighted Property Review Committee.

The committee will examine Northampton properties and determine if they fit the standards as outlined here

Some of the conditions that would require a property to be flagged include properties that have become a public nuisance, ones that act as fire hazards and abandoned properties.

Once the committee has been selected, it will self-elect its own chairman, vice chairman and secretary, each of which will serve a yearlong term ending Dec. 31. Members can also suceed themselves in their positions. 

The application process will be open until June 16, and residents can print this form and bring it into the Administration Building to apply.
