Supervisors Appoint Second Women Chair in Township History

Kimberly Rose is the new chair of the Northampton Township Board of Supervisors.

Kimberly Rose was appointed chairwomen of the Northampton Township Board of Supervisors during a reorganization meeting Monday.

Rose is the second woman to lead the governing body in its 291-year history, former chair Frank Rothermel noted.

Rose is a chiropractor and teacher of "Seniorcize" Northampton Senior Center, according to a bio posted in 2011 on Patch.

She has lived in the township more than 20 years. Prior to being appointed as chairwoman, Rose served as board treasurer.

During the reorganization meeting, Jim Cunningham was selected to remain as vice chairman. Eileen Silver will continue as secretary and former chair Rothermel will now be treasurer.
