Snapshot: Socks for Soldiers
The program, begun earlier this summer, has gained overwhelming community support and ends Oct. 1.
Socks for Soliders was started by Kathy Croak, mother of Lance Corporal Daniel Croak, who is currently serving with the Marines. The object of the drive is to gather 5,000 pairs of white boot socks for batallion by Oct. 1. The Board of Supervisors took on the project and also convinced local Famous Footwear locations to participate in the drive. Visit any nearby location and purchase socks for the drive to drop off right in the store.
