Crews will work over the next month to repair the bridge deck and reconstruct the stone wing walls that support 2nd Street Pike at its approach to the structure that was built in the late 1920s.

PennDOT planned to begin construction later this spring to rehabilitate the one-span, concrete slab bridge with stone masonry walls. However, the operation was advanced to begin this week due to severe structural deterioration and damage to a stone wing wall that resulted from the winter’s excessive snow and freeze-thaw cycles.
