Northampton Police Agree to New Deal
Township police will get a 13.5 percent raise over the next four years under their new contract.
Under a recent binding arbitration agreement, Northampton’s finest are under a new contract until 2015.
The new agreement gives officers a 13.5 percent pay raise over the next four years, starting retroactively with 2012, and does not require officers to put money toward their health insurance premiums, PhillyBurbs.com reports. The police officer's union did compromise with the township on certain aspects of the contract.
The union and Northampton entered arbitration after failing to reach an agreement during previous talks, the Phillyburbs.com article said.
