Holland Town Hall Meeting is Tonight

Northampton Township will hold a town hall meeting tonight to hear ideas from the community on developing a vision for the future of Holland.

The town hall meeting to discuss a Master Plan for the future of Holland will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at the township administration building.

The town hall meeting should last an hour and will be a chance for residents to share opinions on issues and to offer insight on developing a vision for the future of the Village of Holland.

"Northampton Township is in the process of developing a Master Plan for the future of Holland," a press release from the township said. "This plan will tie together the viable key recommendations of previous initiatives and explore actions to be taken to strengthen the economic structure and physical appearance of Holland."

The township has transformed from a rural farming economy to a more modern suburb, the release explained. Traffic congestion, land use concerns and environmental constraints throughout Holland have caused the township to want to reevaluate the village.

The meeting was originally scheduled for Nov. 7 and was cancelled because the county was under a winter weather advisory, and Township Manager Robert Pellegrino said the township wanted a good turnout for the meeting.
