Election Numbers Reveal Normal Low Turnout in 2011

The numbers are in and November's election turnout was small.

In the past five years, the best voting turnout in Northampton for a November election has been 79.6 percent, according to data from the Bucks County Board of Elections.

But 2011's numbers were far below that, at 29 percent. In the past three off-year elections, 29 is actually right on par, surpassing both 2009 and 2007's results of 28.4 percent and 28.8 percent, respectively.

While the race for Northampton Township Supervisor was close, the numbers fell in favor of Kimberly Rose (D) at 52.3 percent to 47.7 percent for Vincent Deon (R).
