The Department of Environmental Protection on Tuesday issued an air-quality alert for Philadelphia and its suburbs.

Air quality in area has been rated a Code Orange, which means it is unhealthy for certain people to spend time outdoors.

“People with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion,” the DEP said.
