Corbett Agrees to Discuss Medical Marijuana With Advocates

Corbett’s willingness to meet comes days after the families in support of medical marijuana announced they were planning a “sit-in” in the governor’s office until he agreed to meet with them.

Governor Tom Corbett has agreed to meet with families regarding the legalization of medical marijuana.

According to PoliticsPa.com, Corbett on Thursday said he was meeting with the families and would propose a plan for the legalization of medical cannabis in Pennsylvania.

Corbett’s willingness to meet comes days after the families in support of medical marijuana announced they were planning a “sit-in” in the governor’s office until he agreed to meet with them.

“According to press reports, Governor Corbett has begun to move away from his previously unyielding position on cannabis based medicine for sick children,” said State Senator Daylin Leach, who organized the press event and is a sponsor of The Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act.

“It is of course important to make sure that the law is not only clear, but also inclusive enough to ensure the widest possible access to medicine for all,” Leach said.

The Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act, which would legalize the use of medical marijuana by patients as recommended by attending physicians.  The bill has 13 co-sponsors.

Impacted people should sue the Obama administration to remove cannabis from Schedule-1. The federal government has held a broad patent for medical cannabis since 2003 so they absolutely know that it has redeeming medical value. Now he is toting himself a job creator on tv election ads. Who is paying for that his fracking buddies who he Corbett refuses to tax at all. Oh but it's ok to raise taxes on everyone else. Now he wants to increase the state income tax and sales tax to do away with property tax. This is just another way to starve the public schools in order to privatize. That money will never reach the public school system. He was willing to giving our state lottery to a foreign firm. Time for Corbett to go!

It's funny how Corbett is suddenly rearing his ugly head as a result of an upcoming election. He has damaged the state of Pa with his self interests and just needs to go away.

This is so pathetic on his part. Does he (and/or his election committee) think we have forgotten the mean-spirited stuff he and his administration have done over the past 3 1/2 years? If so, hopefully he will be in for a very big surprise in November!
