Board Reorganizes, Elects Rothermel Chairman

The Board of Supervisors held its annual reorganization meeting Tuesday night.

Following the swearing in of new supervisor Kimberly Rose at the reorganizational meeting, the Northampton Township Board of Supervisors elected Frank Rothermel as the new Chairman for 2012.

"We worked hard to get here," Rothermel said. "We want the same things you want. You want a government as good as the promise. We're going to work hard to be honest and do that."

Other resolutions passed include bond amounts for township officials, the real estate tax levy for 2012, the board's meeting dates for the year and the re-affirmation of several agreements.

They also voted to effectively replace Christmas Eve Day as a non-uniformed employee holiday with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. This keeps the number of holidays at 10, though the vote was passed 3-2.
