Beware: Robo-call Says Election is Wednesday

Across the country people receive a false robo-call saying the date of the presidential election was changed due to Hurricane Sandy.

Mark Schultz was "a little dumbstruck," but not surprised when he received a robo-call at his house in Holliston, Massachusetts Saturday around noon.

The call said "Hi, I'm one of your neighbors in Holliston and ... I want to urge you to vote for Elizabeth Warren and Barack Obama on Wednesday, November 7." The date, said the call, had been changed because of Hurricane Sandy.

Thankfully the Democratic Town Committee member knew this information was incorrect, but he posted to Facebook to make sure others knew the same. The caller ID listed it as Massachusetts 000-0000.

The registered Democrat said he has heard of this happening around the country, but not in this area.

"It's a new low in campaigning," he said, adding, "I don't know who it was, but it was clearly a robo-call because I couldn't talk to a person. I'm guessing they did target me because I'm a registered Democrat."

There are reports of this happening around the country. In Pennsylvania earlier this month, a judge ordered a stop to robo-calls about this state's Voter ID law because they stated that people still needed to bring a photo ID to vote. You do not.

Have you had a call like this one? Tell us in the comments.

Bill -- I'd like to read. Provide three hard news articles about Democrats doing this, and then for good measure and fairness, provide three of Republicans doing it.

If you're stupid enough to believe a call like that, you probably are on public assistance, dont want to work, hate successful people, and think the government should run your life. Oh, and you probably think Obama isn't Muslim

Haywood, only an idiot would invalidate an otherwise valid argument by finishing it off with a ridiculous, easily-disproven assertion. Given your screen name, I'm guessing you're no brain surgeon.

Wow you are ridiculous. He is not Muslim. He has the least controversial religion of the two candidates this term, by far. But, let's say he was Muslim, what does that matter? It should be okay for a Muslim or an atheist or anyone to be President of this country, and have it be a non-issue. That's the whole point of religious freedom. You clearly have some problem with Islam. You are judging it over the actions of a few, which is really sad and ignorant. You do realize that in Afghanistan and Iraq we are fighting side-by-side with Muslims, as their ally?

what examples you provided? I guess reading what you actually write is also asking a lot. doofus Here you are railing against social media, something you are using, and the "critical thinkers" who you use it which is also you, to repeat what you read on social media like a parrot. So yes, people like you, on socail media are showing us why the countrey is in the shape it is in. Obviously you are not using critical thinking or even can even remember what you said a minute ago. You have ZERO examples. NONE
