All-American Fishing Derby This Weekend

The event will be hosted at Tyler State Park.

The Northampton Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting its at on Saturday morning.

There are still some slots available for the youngsters to get registered for this weekend's fishing derby, according to the Parks & Recreation Department.

The derby is for children 16 and under. However, parents must come along and help their youngster place a sinker in the waters of the Neshaminy Creek.

The morning of fun and fishing will also feature a casting contest and awards for the top anglers.

Each child who is registers will receive a small fishing kit. The kit will include one cup of bait, soda and a soft pretzel, the township states on its website.

On hand at the derby will be expert fishermen from the Langhorne Rod Club.

If adults want to bring their own pole and fish, they will need to have a valid fishing permit, the Parks & Recreation Department posted on their website.

Tickets for the event can be purchased through the Northampton website.
