Two Men Charged with Stealing Money from Wedding Receptions

Two Warrington men were charged with theft and more for stealing envelopes of cash and checks from Spring Mill Manor and Northampton Valley Country Club.

Two men were charged with theft and related crimes after stealing money from wedding receptions and other formal gatherings, according to a recent Northampton Township Police blotter.

John Connor Adair, 20, and Perry Longo Jr., 20, both of Warrington, would walk into wedding reception or other gatherings and steal envelopes containing cash and checks for just married couples or guests of honor, according to police. Four incidents took place in Northampton Township.

On April 28, 2012, $650 in cash was taken from . Then again on May 19, $1,850 in checks and $1,050 in cash were taken from the reception hall.

Two more incidents were reported at , where $1,600 in cash and $4,450 in checks were stolen on June 1, 2012. The second attempted theft occurred on June 8, but staff of the country club interrupted the incident and alerted police, the report said.

Adair and Longo were charged with theft, conspiracy to commit theft, receiving stolen property and attempted theft after these incidents. Both were arraigned before District Judge William Benz and released on $50,000 unsecured bail.

The blotter said that similar incidents have been reported in Doylestown Township as well, and that the Doylestown Township Police Department is investigating.
