Two DUI Arrests Among Recent Police Activity

Northampton Township Police made DUI arrests Thursday and Friday.

Northampton Township Police reported two DUI arrests last week.

According to police, officers received a report of a vehicle being driven erratically traveling east on Almshouse Road at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday. 

Officers located the vehicle and stopped it on Newtown-Richboro Road by Chestnut Drive.  The driver, a 48-year-old Langhorne resident, failed a series of field dexterity tests, police said. Based on this and the officer’s observations of his physical condition, he was taken into custody on suspicion of having been driving under the influence.

He was transported to the Saint Mary Medical Center where samples of his blood were obtained for analysis.  He was then brought to police headquarters and processed before being released.

Then just after midnight Friday, an officer on patrol observed a vehicle in the 200 block of Holland Road traveling southbound in the northbound lane of travel.  The officer was able to stop the vehicle by the Holland Shopping Center and identified the driver as a 22-year-old Feasterville man.

The driver was asked to perform a series of field dexterity tests but was unable to complete them due to his physical condition, police said. Based on this and the officer’s observations, the man was taken into custody on suspicion of having been driving under the influence. 

He was transported to the Saint Mary Medical Center where samples of his blood were obtained for analysis.  He was then brought to police headquarters and processed before being released.  Charges relating to DUI are pending the lab report.
