Search Continues for Missing Rhino

Police and employees of Tom Adams Windows and Carpets in Churchville are still on the hunt for a 20-foot inflatable rhino and the suspects who stole it.

Northampton Township Police Department and employees of Tom Adams Windows and Carpets are still on the hunt for the 20-foot inflatable rhino that was stolen last week.

"We appreciate all the help we received...but still NO RETURN OF OUR RHINO," the business posted on its facebook page.

"If anyone in Bucks [C]ounty sees it please call us or the police. Thank you to all our customers and neighbors for your support, and am confident with your help our Rhino will eventually show up. Your help has been very much appreciated."

The business owner of the Churchville store reported the lawn ornament stolen from the front of the store between 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10 and 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning, a police report said.

The hope was to have the rhino outside through Saturday, Oct. 13, but when workers arrived to the store on Thursday morning, it was gone, Sales Manager Robert Barufkin told Patch.

Barufkin said that the rhino was rented to promote the store's Smartstrand Carpet, which "can handle the traffic and stain resistance of wildlife."

Since the rhino cost nearly $2,000 to rent, and Barufkin doesn't know if the insurance company will cover the cost of the stolen item, Tom Adams Windows and Carpets is offering a $500 reward for its safe return.

As of Sunday, Oct. 14, the rhino has still not been recovered.
