Reckless Driver Charged with DUI, Police Say

According to police, officers received a report that someone was speeding and driving recklessly just before 1 a.m. Sunday. A Morrisville woman was later taken into custody for suspected DUI.

A Morrisville woman is being charged with DUI by Northampton Township Police after an incident Sunday.

According to police, officers received a report that someone was speeding and driving recklessly on Almshouse Road just before 1 a.m. Sunday.

The vehicle was located and stopped on Newtown Richboro Road by Harmony Drive.

The driver, a 55-year-old Morrisville woman, appeared intoxicated, according to police. She was unable to perform field dexterity tests, police said.

She was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while under the influence and transported to the Saint Mary Medical Center where blood was drawn for analysis.

She was then brought to police headquarters and processed before being released into the care and custody of a friend, police said.

Charges relating to DUI are pending the lab report.
