Project Blue Light Honors Local Officials
With the approaching holiday season comes the time to place a blue light in your window to remember fallen police officers.
As the weather begins to chill and the leaves begin to blanket the ground, time slips fast into the holiday season. With that, it's also time for Project Blue Light to remember local officials who have died in the line of duty.
Bucks County has been involved in the project since 1977. It began in Philadelphia in 1988 when a relative wrote to Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) to tell them she'd be placing a blue light in her window to honor her fallen son-in-law.
"It is a very simple way of recognizing the good work done by law enforcement professionals across our great nation," Chief Barry Pilla said. "Project Blue Light asks you to light just one blue porch light or holiday candle light in your window from Thanksgiving through the New Years holidays."
