Police Seeking Man Who Approached 12-year-old at Bus Stop

Police are seeking the community's help to find a suspicious motorcyclist.

Police are seeking more information about an incident that occured last week involving a man on a motorcycle who approached a 12-year-old Council Rock student at a bus stop.

Northampton Township Police said that shortly after 9:30 a.m. on April 26, a middle-aged male on a black and grey motorcycle asked a boy a bus stop at Barley Road and Harvest Road if he wanted a ride to school.  The motorcyclist, who reportedly did not touch or attempt to grab the student, did ask him several times if he wanted a ride to school, police said. The motorcyclist then left the area on Hatboro Road, police said.

The suspicious man is a white male, middle-aged and tan with a white beard, wearing sunglasses and possibly jeans. His vehicle was a black and gray motorcyle with black saddle bags, police said.

The bus stop will be monitored over the next five days and the department is seeking to locate the motorcyclist.

"Although the presence of our officers on the details and speaking with the child’s parents and their neighbors helped us circulate the word and attempt to identify the motorcyclist, we have not been successful nor have we received any additional reports on this person or his vehicle," Pilla wrote. "Since we do not know his intentions, it would help put all at rest if we are able to speak with the motorcyclist."

The department asks anyone who may have any knowledge of the identity of the motorcyclist or this incident to contact them at (215-) 357-8700.
