Police Report Holiday Weekend Stats

After participating in the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign this weekend to reduce the number of drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol, police released a breakdown of their statistics from the weekend.

Over the holiday weekend, there were no DUIs and no reported incidents of underage drinking in Northampton Township.

These numbers come from data released by the Northampton Township Police Department regarding their 2011 Labor Day Weekend Anti-DUI campaign and the 2011 Anti-Aggressive Driving Campaign. 

During the weekend there were five roving DUI details between midnight and 3 a.m. each morning. From those details, there were no DUIs and a total of 33 enforcements made, split into 17 citations and 16 warnings.

The Anti-Aggressive Driving Campaign, which began on July 11 and ran through Aug. 28, yielded one drug arrest, one arrest of a wanted person, 114 traffic citations and 13 written warnings, according to the data.
