Saturday, January 14: DUI-Related Traffic Crash at Temperance Lane by Blue Fox Lane

At 2:45 a.m. while checking businesses in the Richboro commercial area, an officer heard a vehicle traveling east on Almshouse Road with a flat tire. The vehicle was seen turning onto Temperance Lane and stopped by the officer by Blue Fox Lane. The operator was identified as Nicholas Salvatore, 22, of Richboro. The officer’s observations of Salvatore combined with his inability to successfully complete a series of field dexterity tests led to him being taken into custody on suspicion of having been driving while under the influence. Officers found that in addition to the flat tire the vehicle had a shattered windshield, dented body panels and paint transfer marks. Officers found that Salvatore’s vehicle had struck a mailbox and post on North Friesland Drive. Salvatore was transported to the Saint Mary Medical Center where samples of his blood were obtained for analysis before he was processed at the Warminster Township Police Department before being released to a family member. Charges relating to DUI are pending the lab report.
